The dam of flying filly Hooness was yesterday sold at the Inglis Broodmare Sale. Spectrum's Image, who is the grandaughter of Tidal Light who was Australasian Horse of the Year 1997 and mother of already stakes winner Hooness (more to come) was offered at the sale by the same vendor as Hooness (purchased by Petch Racing). The mare was knocked down to Petch Racing for $85k plus GST. The extra enticement was that Spectrum's Image is in foal to leading Victorian Stallion "Bel Esprit" and is due to foal on October 20 this year. With a pedigree such as this, the foal is certain to make the Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale and potentially bring a lot more than the $85k purchase price for both mare and foal. To add to this great deal, Darley have offered a foal share agreement to stallion Exceed and Excel, which will create a full brother/sister to Hooness. What will it be worth?
