Where has our Melbourne Cup gone?? On Tuesday, it is likely the Melbourne Cup will consist of mostly International raiders or horses purchsed from overseas who are able to qualify a lot easier to run in the world's most prestigious race. Gone are the days of the Melbourne Cup dream. Just to have a runner in the race is now the 'prestige'. RVL are promoting new investors into the racing industry as owner. For what? All Australians dream of owning a runner in the Melbourne Cup. It has been a tradition. Should the race be re-named? Is it fair on Australian investors? Do RVL wish to see Australian horses in the Melbourne Cup? Answer to all of these questions is NO!! Come on RVL. Stop making it nearly impossible for our investors to be a part of history!!
