Stable warhorse Weekend Special heads to Warwick Farm tomorrow on a hit and run mission in the El Alamein BM80 HCP over 1000m at 3.39pm.

"It's a tough race and it is the first time that he's gone the Sydney way. It's very hard to compare the Victorian form to the Sydney form, however in saying that the horse is well in himself and providing he gets around the Sydney way of going, he should be competitive in this race" said Jason Petch, who has travelled the horse himself for the quick visit.

Jockey Blake Shinn will get the leg up and from Barrier 2, Weekend Special will be given every chance to show what he's got going the reverse way of running. "Blake is a massive asset to the horse, one of the leading riders in Sydney and we're thankful we could secure his services"

Here's hoping for a 'Special' performance tomorrow on one of Australia's most important days.

Good Luck Weekend Special!
