Well he was back to his best but just found one better than him on the day!
Weekend Special went to Sandown on Wednesday 22nd of May and finished a gallant 2nd to Oamaru Rose beaten a length!
After a great getaway, Special slotted in behind the leaders and the Heavy 9 rated track and was still cruising as they approached the 400m mark. Jockey Ben Knobel rode him a treat and he almost got there, however the 2.5kg pull in the weights seen him over run by the fast finishing winner.
After the race, Special wasn't too happy with what Hadronica (3rd) had to say as he lashed out after the post which earnt our lad a Stewards warning! Footage of this can be found on our Facebook page!
